Statement
I am mostly a plein air painter and mostly paint on site trying to capture a sense of place. I am interested in the perception of nature, the nature of perception, and the nature of art. Although the scale is often small, the spaces are often vast and panoramic.

Biography
Exhibiting since 1972 mainly in New York City, Boston, Provincetown, and Wellfleet. Collections include: Louis-Dreyfus, Inness, Graham Gund, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Gibbs Museum, Long Beach Museum, Sheldon Art Museum, Museum of Western Virginia, Albany Museum of History and Art, Middlebury College, Holllins University, and more. Grants include Radcliffe Institute, New York Foundation for the Arts, National Foundation for the Arts, CAPS, Ingram Merrill, Tiffany. Artists in Residence grants include MacDowell Colony, Yaddo, Djerassi, Heliker-LaHotan, World Trade Artists, Montecastello-diVibio (Italy).
